Frequently Asked Questions

When will my order ship?

I try to ship ONCE per week (earlier in the week if I can) but it depends on my shop update days and cutoff times. If you order on a Thursday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday-it will most likely ship on the following Monday. If you order on Monday or Tuesday, it will likely ship on Wednesday. Orders placed Wednesdays may wait (depending on work flow) until the following Monday to ship.

Please contact me via email if you have particular shipping needs or questions!

You’ll receive an email the day your order ships that includes the carrier and tracking information.

What shipping options do you offer?

Unless you are local, you’ll choose the “domestic shipping” option.

I have estimated the shipping cost based on weight and will choose the lowest cost shipping option.

For lightweight items under 16 oz it will ship USPS Ground Advantage (previously called First Class Package Service). This is low-cost but will take a few extra days than Priority Mail.

For all other packages over one pound, I will use either UPS Ground or USPS Ground Advantage (previously Parcel Select) or Priority Mail, whichever is most economical.

I’ve done my best to estimate the shipping costs, which also includes packing materials, time, and fuel. If it turns out I was in error I will refund you any overages.

If you are LOCAL, choose “local pickup” and I’ll reach out to you after your purchase to arrange for you to pick up your items at my studio, 15 minutes from downtown Santa Fe.

What type of packaging do you use?

I aim to use recycled or eco friendly materials in my packaging. I use a combination of materials that are available to me, including recycled boxes, paper, and bubble wrap. I only use bubble wrap or plastic that is second hand, not newly purchased. I also use compostable eco-beans instead of regular packing peanuts. My main goal is to get your items to you safely while using second hand materials and/or materials that are able to be reused or recycled.

Is your work food safe?

Yes.

All of the transparent glazes, such as clear and celadons, have been specifically formulated to “fit” with the porcelain clay body. Thus, creating wares that are durable, as well as resistant to cracking and chipping.

I do have a few specialty crystalline type glazes that have luminous colors of aqua, turquoise, and blue. These glazes are reserved only for the “GEO” dishes. They have a fine network of lines, called crazing, that are not visible to the eye. However, if you chose to set a teabag or something of that nature in the dish, it may indeed stain the lines, exposing them and changing the look of the piece.

Do you take returns?

I truly hope that you are more than happy with your purchase. If, for any reason, this is not the case, please contact me directly via email within 7 days and we will start the return process. All packing and shipping costs will be your responsibility. All items must be returned in original condition within 14 days of original delivery in order to qualify for a refund. Once item/s are received in good condition, a refund will be issued.

Do you take commissions?

No.
